ISU Symphony Youth Concert
ISU Symphony performas in Stephens Auditorium as part of the Martha-Ellen Tye Performing Arts Institute Youth Matinee Series.
Seminar: Resiliency in the workplace
This seminar will provide participants with skills to identify stressors in their lives, understand how these stressors affect them, and learn to practice a variety of effective coping techniques. Facilitated by ISU's EAP provider, Employee and Family Resources. Register for a session on the HRS Training page in AccessPlus.
Social Security seminar
"Understanding Social Security Benefits." This seminar, valuable to employees of all ages, includes information on Social Security wage tests, when to begin your benefits, beginning Social Security when on phased retirement, changing from disability to full Social Security benefits, spousal benefits, the application process, and signing up for Medicare (even if still working). No registration required.
Tuesday Tea
Come to the Farm House Museum to enjoy tea and conversation about all things Farm House. Mark your calendar from Noon to 1:00 pm Tuesdays this month and enjoy the 150 year old structure in a whole new way. Check the University Museums website to learn what the discussion topic will be. Can't make it at noon? The Farm House will be serving tea from Noon to 4:00 pm on Tuesdays so stop in any time.
Information session: Starting a learning community
Doug Gruenewald and Steve Mickelson, co-directors of ISU learning communities, will discuss starting a new learning community, including the funding application process. To register, contact Jen Leptien.
Student Leadership Conference
The ISU Fall Leadership Conference is designed to help develop leadership skills, network with other leaders on campus, and help students become more effective leaders during their time at Iowa State and beyond. Students will have the opportunity to select one of five paths that they will follow throughout the course of the conference.
