This seminar provides an overview of early career awards, but will focus on awards offered by private foundations. Get useful information on the ISU Foundation and how they can help you pursue funding. Also, receive general information about other early career awards offered by the federal government. Finally, hear from ISU faculty who have experience pursuing and receiving early career awards, and how those awards shaped their careers.

CANCELED: Research workshop: Integrating Societal Impacts into Your Proposal, Career and Research Identity
Learn how to build a broader impacts effort in the context of your research. This workshop, presented by the Grants Hub and the NSF-funded Center for Advancing Research Impacts in Society (ARIS Center), will help participants understand the broader impacts criterion, develop and incorporate strong BI plans into grant proposals, and identify local partners and resources. There will be some emphasis on NSF CAREER proposals.
The quiz set up in Canvas depends on the purpose with which the assessment is administered. Upon completion, participants will be able to do the following:

You are invited to share and discuss DBER journal articles, seek feedback as you begin designing your own educational research projects, and form collaborations with participants from other disciplines.

Canvas has several options for organizing effective groups and collaborative work in Canvas. Upon completion, participants will be able to do the following:

Raj Raman, Morrill Professor, Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, reflects on the parallels between student motivation, which is well recognized as crucial for student success, and instructor motivation (and bandwidth). This event was rescheduled from its original date of Jan. 31, 2019.
Associate provost Dawn Bratsch-Prince and vice president for research Sarah Nusser will lead a presentation for new tenure-eligible faculty on what makes a successful promotion and tenure case. Register by March 5.
Join us for a panel discussion on the impact of OER in the classroom. Miller Open Education Mini-Grant recipients will share the benefits and challenges of making the switch to OER and why they chose to apply for the grant. Participants will leave the workshop with plans for incorporating OER into their courses and a pathway to making their classes more affordable.
