Orientation: Corporate Travel Planners
One of ISU's new contracted travel agency partners, Corporate Travel Planners, will host an orientation session five times May 7-8. The session includes a demo of the Concur online booking tool. No registration is required. It will be repeated at 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. today.
Research Workshop: Submission software training
The Office for Responsible Research will transition to a new electronic system for submission, review, and maintenance of Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) applications. The a-tune tick@lab system will go live in early 2018, integrating research, teaching and testing protocols, animal procurement and management, as well as veterinary medical records.

Midwest Statistical Machine Learning Colloquium
The purpose of the meeting is to bring together a diverse set of researchers and practitioners to discuss current motivating problems and methodological advances in theory-based machine learning. Three morning talks on applicable theory will be followed by the poster session (with ample time for interaction with all presenters built around lunch) and three afternoon talks on a variety of important applications.
