Seed Science and Technology short course
This introductory course focuses on the life cycle of seed, crop improvement, seed production, along with health, variety, and quality testing, post-harvest management, and seed conditioning technologies. The goal of this course is for each participant to establish a comprehensive understanding of seed science and technologies and provide a clear picture of the many facets of the seed industry.

Research workshop: Working with IACUC Protocols Using a-tune
The Office for Responsible Research, Office of the Attending Veterinarian and Laboratory Animal Resources are offering software training for researchers who submit IACUC or IBC protocols. Participants will learn how to navigate the new electronic protocol submission system, a-tune. Training topics will include creating and submitting a protocol, and, for animal users of LAR, how to order animals and manage animal records.

Sust-Ames Shop Local Day
The "Sust-Ames" event focuses on engaging the community in "buying green" through shopping local. The event, included in this year's Snow Magic festivities, features over 25 Main Street and Campustown businesses taking part with many offering one-day special discounts and specials. All participating businesses will be offering festive reusable and pouchable bags made from recycled soda bottles to shoppers (while supplies last).
Cyclone Central Tailgate
Cyclones everywhere are invited to celebrate at the ISU Alumni Center before every home football game. Enjoy giveaways, shopping, refreshments, marching band performances, Cy and spirit squad appearances, and entertainment for all ages. Doors open 3 hours prior to kick-off and end 30 minutes prior to kickoff. Catered meal available for an additional charge.

Walk-in Argentine Tango
This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4-5pm, moves for beginners are introduced with a different figure each week along with techniques for better dancing. From 5-7pm, the floor is yours for dancing under the guidance of Valerie Williams, and for working with different partners. An intermediate level figure will also be introduced during this time.

Gold Star Hall Ceremony
This important ceremony honors our Iowa State students who made the ultimate sacrifice fighting for the freedoms we enjoy. Their names are carved into the limestone walls of Gold Star Hall in the Memorial Union so that we may both remember and honor their service to our country, which merits our deep respect.
Faculty-staff mixer with first-generation students
Faculty and staff who themselves identified as first-generation students are invited to meet with first-generation students. A student panel follows (6:30-7:30 pm.). Registration is requested.
