Nicole Allen, Director of Open Education for SPARC (Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition), will speak to the Iowa Regent's universities about her experience with open educational resources (OER) for Open Education Week. Nicole is an internationally recognized expert in the movement for Open Education and has been working to further support the use of open textbooks since her own undergraduate education more than a decade ago.

The Office for Responsible Research, Office of the Attending Veterinarian and Laboratory Animal Resources are offering software training for researchers who submit IACUC or IBC protocols. Participants will learn how to navigate the new electronic protocol submission system, a-tune. Training topics will include creating and submitting a protocol, and, for animal users of LAR, how to order animals and manage animal records.
