Mark your calendar from Noon to 1:00 pm Tuesdays this month and enjoy the 150 year old structure in a whole new way. Check the University Museums website to learn what the discussion topic will be. Can't make it at noon? The Farm House will be serving tea from Noon to 4:00 pm on Tuesdays so stop in any time.
IEOP Class: Conversational English
The Intensive English and Orientation Program (IEOP) is offering a class on conversational English to international visiting scholars, faculty/staff and graduate students. The course focuses, in part, on informal conversation, idiomatic expressions and current events. The class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, Oct. 19-Dec. 9. Breast cancer fund-raiser
Colleges Against Cancer of Iowa State is holding "Bowling for Boobs" to raise money to help find a cure for breast cancer. Bowling games are $3, T-shirts are $10; get both for $12. T-shirts also are available in the MU Oct. 13-15 (10 a.m.-2 p.m.) for $10. Breast cancer survivor Carrie Johnson, Ames, will be on hand to talk with attendees. This event is open to the public.

Immersive Landscapes - Andrea Cochran
Andrea Cochran is the principal of Andrea Cochran Landscape Architecture in San Francisco. Her work is known for the careful consideration of site, climate and existing architecture and blurring the line between the natural and built environment. The P. H. Elwood Lecture in Landscape Architecture.
P.H. Elwood Lecture in Landscape Architecture: Immersive Landscapes
Andrea Cochran, principal of Andrea Cochran Landscape Architecture in San Francisco, will present "Immersive Landscapes," the 2010 P.H. Elwood Lecture in Landscape Architecture. Her presentation will be followed by a reception in conjunction with an exhibition of work by ISU landscape architecture and planning students who studied in Rome this past summer.
Pastels with Nancy Thompson
Pastels are a unique painting medium in that the colors are mixed on the paper by overlaying or blending, rather than on a palette. Meets Tuesdays from 6 - 8pm for 5 weeks.
CyGraph meeting
The first meeting of Cygraph, a group of students and faculty interested in all things related to computer graphics. Dr. Song Zhang's research group will discuss and demo their high-resolution real-time 3-D imaging system. Their system infiltrated pop culture when British band Radiohead used it to produce a music video for their song "House of Cards."
