This workshop will discuss real-word strategies for time management in an academic career in veterinary medicine, along with activities designed to help participants personalize strategies for their situation.
Are you interested in expanding your teaching materials? Dissatisfied with the current information/quality of the textbook you've been using in your classroom? Are you concerned about the cost/usability of your textbook for your students? Librarians Emma Molls and Kelly Thompson introduce Open Educational Resources in this seminar that will help you build an online alternate to traditional textbooks for your classroom.
For this session, participants will come prepared with an idea in mind of how they will flip an activity in their course. A summarized overview will be presented to review the challenges and opportunities discussed from session 2. After this discussion, the session will take on a workshop format. Participants will be given time to work on and discuss their own ideas.
How should junior academics plan to walk the difficult tightrope between participating ethically in public social media spaces, and simultaneous passing through the difficult challenges of the tenure track? In this webinar, Adeline Koh, PhD will analyze the landscape of public academic spaces through social media, the necessity of participating in these spaces, and caveats and strategies to keep in mind.

This course and our discussions will help University community members to develop the knowledge and skills needed to design learning experiences that promote inclusive learning environments.
