Workshop: Effectively managing disruptive classroom behavior
When disruptive behavior takes place, a number of Iowa State University faculty members recommend addressing it immediately. Their advice: remain calm, assess the situation, listen to student concerns. Especially recommended: provide a clear, firm response that is consistent with responses you've given other students. The strategies and resources in this workshop will help you prepare for these moments before they occur.
Research workshop: Using Campus Resources to Find Funding Opportunities
ISU provides excellent resources to assist faculty with the search for research funding. In this hands-on training you will learn how to strategically use websites and proprietary databases to identify and connect with funding opportunities and to set up saved searches, shared opportunities, and receive funding alert emails.

WE Lead: Women's Empowerment and Leadership Conference
WE Lead brings students together to network with each other, as well as female leaders at Iowa State and the Central Iowa community. Research workshop: Writing Winning Grant Proposals, Phase I
This all-day presentation comprehensively addresses both practical and conceptual aspects that are important to writing competitive grant proposals. The workshop is tailored to meet the needs of the audience, e.g., to focus on the funding agency or agencies (federal, private, and/or industry) that is / are of greatest interest to the attendees. Emphasis is given to doing the "extra" things that can make the difference between success and failure.

Training topics will include creating and submitting a protocol, and, for animal users of LAR, how to order animals and manage animal records.
