Cyclone Family Weekend is an annual campus-wide event run by student leaders. The weekend is filled with opportunities for families to spend time with their students, learn about Iowa State, and see our beautiful campus. Each year, the activities and opportunities change but often include ticketed and free performances, tours of campus facilities, and fun activities. Registration is preferred.

"Climate Change Theatre Action: Lighting the Way," a series of short plays written by international playwrights to support the UN Climate Change Conference. These stories bring science to life and encourage us to work toward a sustainable future together. ISU's CCTA focuses on sharing knowledge, discovering hope and creating community as the best ways to face growing environmental crises.

Valerie Williams This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4-5pm, moves for beginners are introduced with different partners for practice. From 5-7pm, the floor is yours for dancing under the guidance of Valerie, and for working with different partners. An intermediate level figure will also be introduced during this time.
Biologist Thor Hanson is a Guggenheim Fellow, a Switzer Environmental Fellow, and the award-winning author of "The Triumph of Seeds." He is featured in the new six-part documentary "Seeds: Diversity of Wonder," produced by the Iowa State University Seed Science Center. Following the film, Hanson will discuss his research and writing on the natural and human history of seeds.
Planning and development specialist Brian Hurd, the technical assistance program manager for Rise Community Development in St. Louis, will talk about building equity and sustainability in communities in a public keynote lecture following an invitation-only design charrette to examine regenerative and inclusive housing solutions for young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Hurd holds a master of community and regional planning from ISU.
