After this session you'll know how to look for and identify budget-related items in a funding agency's request for proposal, and where to find all the information you need to create a sound budget for your proposal. We'll discuss some of the common mistakes people make during budget development (please, share your stories!) so others can avoid them. We'll work through a real budget scenario so that you'll feel confident using Iowa State tools.

Biases can emerge in the form of (micro)aggressions during class discussions, in student-student interactions during group or lab work, or interactions between students and instructors.

The career fair offers employers and students a professional environment to connect and discuss internships and full-time employment opportunities in human/social services; health/wellness; event management; government; and hospitality. There also will be an opportunity for students to meet with representatives from professional health and law schools. Open to all majors and other job seekers. Registration required.
CELT's Choose Your Instructional Tool Adventure focuses on various instructional strategies found on the CELT website and demonstrates practical ways to incorporate these tools in a Canvas course. Instructional support staff from across campus will facilitate each 30-minute byte. These 30-minutes builds on concepts covered in the Canvas Mini-Bytes training videos on the CELT instructional strategies pages.

Join this interactive webinar as we discuss the increasing complexity of student mental health and well-being needs on college campuses. We will explore current data and student needs. Dr. Galida Davis leads the development and implementation of professional learning programs at the American Council on Education (ACE). She serves as the primary liaison to the ACE Women's Network, a national network that supports women in higher education faculty and administration. A live, moderated conversation with Tony Sardella, founder and vice chairman of evolve24, a leader in big data, predictive analytics and strategic decision-making. Sardella also holds an adjunct professor position in the Olin Business School at Washington University, St. Louis, and was inducted as a Laureate of the Smithsonian Institute for his social and economic impact in the field of science and technology. Associate professor of English Abram Anders will introduce narrative-based design methods that support a human-centered approach to creating an innovation strategy and communicating it through mindsets and practices that can impact behavior and performance. Participants will use these methods to explore opportunities and envision innovation strategies for adaptive leadership at ISU.
