Words Meet Art Part 1: Guided Tour & Writing to Writing Prompts | Option B
REGISTRATION REQUIRED! For Part 1 of Words Meet Art with Ames Writers Collective, participants will receive a guided tour of "Harriet Bart: Material Alchemy" to educate and inspire creativity. An introduction to "writing to writing prompts" will follow with writing sessions to connect writers to the exhibition.

Composition and Production of Glass Through the Ages
John Hill, ISU professor emeritus of physics and a Quester, will discuss naturally produced glass followed by an examination of glass making from prehistoric times until the modern era. This program includes a reception.

Words Meet Art Part 2: Public Reading
Writers who participated in Words Meet Art Part 1 will present their flash fiction, poems, creative nonfiction, a monologue, and/or perform music in response to the exhibition "Harriet Bart: Material Alchemy" in the Christian Petersen Art Museum.
Performance: Town and Gown Chamber Music
Featuring Megan Moore, mezzo soprano, and Francesco Barfoed, piano. Moore was awarded first prize in the Young Concert Artists International Competition and second prize in the Naumburg Vocal Competition. In both, she performed with award-winning Danish pianist Francesco Barfoed, and they have gone on to performances at the Kennedy Center and New York's Merkin Hall.
Argentine Tango Drop-In Lessons
This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. Classes meet every Sunday and drop-ins are welcome. Purchase a dance punch card and attend as often as your schedule allows. Open to ages 18+.

Drop-In Craft: Beaded Felt Bowls
Make a cute and handy little bowl. Choose a thick felt circle with pre-made holes in a color you like, along with a handful of large beads. You will stitch the beads into the felt and cinch it at the end with strong thread and a sturdy needle. This is a fun project that is perfect for all ages and skill sets.
Drop-In Craft: Flowerpot Painting
Simple, fun, and in-season, terra cotta pots are an easy surface to paint on. Choose from small pots to start an herb garden, to medium containers for indoor plants, and larger pots for outdoor flowers.
Monday Monologues series
The Stormettes Dance Line promotes team endurance and body-positivity by performing a variety of different dance styles including the majorette, heels and hip-hop styles. This team, open to Iowa State students with varying levels of dance experience, serves the Iowa State, Ames and Des Moines communities through performances and workshops. Rain location: first floor, Grant Wood mural lobby.
