Mini-Forest Revolution: Using the Miyawaki Method to Rapidly Rewild Our Communities
Alumna Hannah Lewis, author of "Mini-Forest Revolution: Using the Miyawaki Method to Rapidly Rewild the World," will give the 2023 Shivvers Memorial Lecture. Her book promotes an international, "doable" movement to restore biodiversity by transforming empty lots, backyards and degraded land into mini forests.

Industry Perspectives and Emerging Trends in the Global Agriculture
Tim Glenn, executive vice president of the seed business unit at Corteva Agriscience, has spent more than 30 years serving in the agriculture industry. His global leadership has spanned all facets of the industry including seeds, crop protection, sales, marketing, integrated operations and commercial effectiveness. Glenn is an Iowa State graduate.

The Farmer's Lawyer: The Fight to Save the Family Farm
A Pearl Hogrefe Lecture Sarah Vogel is an attorney, advocate, and author of The Farmerââ'¬â"¢s Lawyer, a memoir about her landmark class action lawsuit, Coleman v. Block. Vogel brought the historic case against the federal government on behalf of 240,000 family farmers facing foreclosure during the 1980s farm crisis.

The event is supported by the City of Ames, Iowa State University and Iowa Home Consulting. Volunteers can choose to work alone, with a group of people, or with an organization - and clean-up their neighborhood or favorite outdoor area.
