Stash the Trash is a volunteer effort that brings students and community members together to help clean up the Ames community. The event is supported by the City of Ames, Iowa State University and Iowa Home Consulting. Volunteers can choose to work alone, with a group of people, or with an organization - and clean-up their neighborhood or favorite outdoor area.

In a first for the ISU Symphony Orchestra, the concert will feature music exclusively by women composers, including Stella Sung, Stephanie Ann Boyd, Milica Paranosic, Shulamit Ran, Joan Tower, and a world premiere by Christine Donkin. The ISU Symphony will be joined by an intergenerational treble choir composed of women from ISU and the Ames High School choral program, Lara St. John, soprano Amanda Kosi, and cellist Julie Sturm.
