Argentine Tango Drop-In Lessons

Cyclone Cinema: John Wick: Chapter 4
Cyclone Cinema is presented by the Student Union Board and showcases a variety of film genres, screening a different movie every weekend Thursday - Sunday during the semester. Sunday film screenings are in open caption format. All other screenings can be open caption as well, as long as the request is made to the staff prior to the movie starting.

Macrame Wall-Hanging Class w/ Rhonda Scott
Put a new spin on an old favorite and create your own fiber wall art using patterns from New School Macrame by Terri Watson. Learn a few macramé knots, choose a pattern to "weave", and finish your work with fringe or tassels. Finished pieces will be about 7" wide by 6" long, plus fringe.

Workshop: Dust Off Your Spreadsheets Using OpenRefine
OpenRefine is a free multipurpose data cleaner. This workshop will teach you several powerful features in OpenRefine and you will learn to document your process to effortlessly apply the same steps to similar data. This tool will lead to cleaner data with fewer oops and more woo-hoo. This is a beginner level workshop, and no prior experience is needed. A Windows, Mac, or Linux computer is needed to participate.
Afternoon Teapots Class w/ Valerie Williams
Handbuilding pottery doesn't just mean pinch pots! Learn to use our slab roller to create sheets of clay that can be assembled, manipulated, and built into functional ware. This class will start with making mugs and end with constructing a teapot, and during each session participants can enjoy a cup of afternoon tea, on the house.

Scandi Plant Stand Drop-in Craft w/ John Burright
Place your favorite plant on a pedestal in the Scandi style of clean lines and neutral colors. We will assist you with assembling a plant stand with pre-cut wood. Add a solid stripe of color to capture that minimalist look. We also have 12" flowerpots to paint if you would like to purchase one or use your own similarly sized pot from home.

"Snacking your Way to Success: Exploring Boolean Operators, Search Strategies, and Databases." Using culinary metaphors, we will explore how to find journal articles and more within library resources. We will cover the basics of Boolean Operators and break down citations to their basic ingredients. During the workshop, we will have a live demonstration on how to use both general and subject-specific databases.
Olivia's Legacy: Raising Awareness of Alcohol Culture on Campuses and How to Stay Safe
In January 2021, Iowa State student Olivia Chutich died of hypothermia and acute alcohol intoxication in her sorority's parking lot. Hear from her mother, Dr. Penny Wheeler, recently retired chief executive officer of Allina Health, as she shares the story of her daughter's spirit, the impact of her loss, and considerations for alcohol education and increasing safety in situations where alcohol is involved.
Concert: Whitehall (indie rock)
Whitehall is an indie rock four-piece from Charleston, SC. They merge a dancey demeanor with an insatiable desire for more out of life, making for an incredibly energetic and heart opening live experience. When they aren't shotgunning La Croix, Whitehall tours the east coast.

2023 Constitution Day Speaker Dr. Karen M. Kedrowski is Director of the Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics and Professor of Political Science at Iowa State University. The Catt Center conducts research on women and politics, with a focus on Iowa; and promotes civic engagement. Dr. Kedrowski teaches courses in American Politics and conducts research on women in American politics and civic engagement.
