Argentine Tango Drop-In Lessons

Mixed Level Pottery Class w/ Alice McGary
An introduction to creating functional pottery on the wheel. Start with the building blocks of centering clay and pulling cylinders, and move on to make bowls, mugs, and other forms. Learn how to pull handles, glaze, and finishing techniques, and build the skills needed to continue on your own. Open to beginners as well as those with experience who would like to improve their skills.

Sugar Skulls Embroidery Workshop w/ Judy Lemish
Sugar skulls are symbolic pieces of folk art popular during Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), a Mexican holiday for remembering and honoring those who have passed. Choose from several patterns and personalize with your color choices. Those new to stitching will learn the basic embroidery stitches. If you know the basics, try some fancy stitches to add to your repertoire. Look for Dia de los Muertos celebrations on November 1 & 2.

The concert features student trombone soloist Alex Schwarte and guest conductor Barry Martin, director of university bands at Grand Valley State University, Michigan. Brad Dell, chair of the Iowa State music and theatre department, will narrate Aaron Copland's "Lincoln Portrait." The ISU Wind Ensemble is directed by Michael Golemo.
Performance: The Guess Who
The legendary Canadian band enjoyed chart topping hits in the late 60s and early 70s with an impressive catalogue of songs including "American Woman," "These Eyes," and "No Time." The most recent version of the band has mastered a wildly entertaining romp through the early hits mixed in with their current creations, while managing to take the whole experience to a new level.
