Community Celebration: Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Attend in person or watch live online. George Trice, founder of the Trice Legacy Foundation that awards scholarships and grants to students, will serve as the keynote speaker. Refreshments will be served at 6 p.m. in the gymnasium, followed by the program at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. A livestream is available for those who cannot attend in person.

A carillon concert in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., performed by Tin-Shi Tam, the university carilloneur and Charles T. and Ivadelle Cobb Cownie Professor of Music. The program includes hymns, spirituals and music inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Join the Genetics, Development and Cell Biology department for this seminar with Dr. Bob Schmitz, professor in the genetics department from the University of Georgia. Dr. Schmitz will discuss research into identifying cis-regulatory DNA elements instrumental to understanding transcriptional regulation during development and/or in response to external stimuli.
