Uncomfortable Art Curator's Tour | "In Their Time"
Join University Museums curators, Allison Sheridan and Adrienne Gennett, to explore art exhibited throughout In Their Time that can make visitors and museums staff uncomfortable because of the imagery, material, or provenance. Take the opportunity to ask questions about why these objects can be seen as problematic and how museums today work for more transparency in their exhibitions.
Argentine Tango Drop-In Lessons
This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. Classes meet every Sunday and drop-ins are welcome. Purchase a dance punch card and attend as often as your schedule allows. Open to ages 18+.
Cyclone Cinema: Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
Cyclone Cinema is presented by the Student Union Board and showcases a variety of film genres, screening a different movie every weekend Thursday - Sunday during the semester. Sunday film screenings are in open caption format. All other screenings can be open caption as well, as long as the request is made to the staff prior to the movie starting.

Coming Out Week Craft
National Coming Out Day is an annual LGBTQIA+ awareness day observed on October 11, and we want to celebrate all week! Choose a word or two - like Pride, Love, or Equality - and use our letter stamps to hammer out your text onto a metal disk. We will attach it to a cord bracelet or keychain. Everyone is welcome at The Workspace.
Drop in Craft: Halloween Felt Plushies
Arm yourself with scissors and a glue gun and make a stuffed felt plushie. We have patterns for a bat, ghost, jack-o-lantern, Frankenstein and skull. These no-sew plushies are adorable and easy to make.
Paint Your Own Pottery: Adorable Animals
October 7-12: Pandas, bunnies, llamas, Frenchies, hedgehogs, buffalo, kittens, narwhals, owls, frogs, elephants, turtles and so many more!
School's out Kids' Crafts: Sugar Skulls
Need a fun afternoon activity for the kids on a no-school day? Drop in and make a sugar skull. Choose a design and color it in with markers. Then add glitter, sequins, feathers, pompoms and other fun decorations.

Japan House Tea Ceremony Demonstration and Lecture
The Department of Graphic Design and the Department of Interior Design will co-host Kimiko Gunji, professor emeritus of Japan House at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and Diana Liao, education and engagement specialist with Japan House, for a public lecture and tea ceremony demonstration in the College of Design atrium.
Workshop: Post-Award Actions
This session will include short presentations on how and when to initiate Rebudget Requests and No-Cost Extensions, followed by time for questions. This will be an interactive conversation with OSPA Post-Award staff who review, prepare and submit your post-award requests to sponsors. Questions may be submitted in advance to ospa-awards@iastate.edu or raised via the chat during the training session.

Workshop: Working in Streamlyne: Budgeting Basics
This workshop is an introduction to budgeting for sponsored programs at Iowa State. It will introduce the basics of costing policy, allowability and F&A rates. We will go in-depth on how to build a budget using Streamlyne's budgeting tool. This course includes an introduction into the common elements that make up a budget, including cost share and subrecipients.
Workshop: Data Management 30+30
An ounce of prevention is worth it when it comes to your valuable files. In the first 30 minutes of this workshop, we'll review five data management practices: backups, organization and naming, documentation, security, and futureproofing. The remaining time is optional for participant discussion and questions. This workshop is for anyone who wants to improve their data management. Registration required.
