At our Pitch Workshop, you'll learn how to deliver a powerful 90-second pitch that leaves a lasting impression, sharpen your storytelling skills and grab your audience's attention and receive guidance and feedback from the Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship team in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Fall Startup Pitch Competition Finale
Students compete in one of two categories -- new idea or existing business --and are allowed 90 seconds to pitch their concept. The first round of pitches are Oct. 7-10 (3-5 p.m.).
Reception: Office of Biotechnology 40th Anniversary
For 40 years, the Office of Biotechnology has provided Iowa State researchers with cutting-edge instrumentation and expert support to push the boundaries of knowledge and innovation. To commemorate this milestone light appetizers will be served, followed by a brief program.

Professional and Scientific Council seminar series
"Ghosts of Iowa State's Past," Allison Sheridan, curator, Farm House Museum. The haunts of academia - from dorms, halls, and offices to campus icons and even the cemetery - help to tell the story of Iowa State from its earliest days. The truths, eerie legends and hair-raising lore told in this seminar will illustrate campus legacies from fact to pure fiction in what is the spookiest of months.
SheTalks Reception
A community cocktail reception featuring six women who are creatively leading in their distinct fields. Taken from the Japanese-inspired Pecha Kucha, each presenter shows 20 slides, each for 20 seconds while telling their story. Networking begins at 4:30 p.m., followed by the presentations (5-6:30 p.m.).

Majors Fair
More than 100 Iowa State major and minor degree programs will be represented in one room. The Majors Fair is for any students who are Open Option, undecided, thinking about changing their major, want a second major, or are interested in adding a minor.

Ceremony: Veterinary Diagnostic Lab
Join lab leaders and staff for a short ceremony celebrating the new Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory facility's LEED Silver Certification awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The green building certification program is the globally recognized standard for designing, constructing and operating high-performance, sustainability-focused buildings and neighborhoods.
Green Dot lunch and learn
ISU student health and wellness will present a two-part lunch and learn as part of Green Dot action month: "Green Flags" (10:30-11:45 a.m.) and "Green Dot" (noon-1 p.m.). Refreshments and lunch will be provided. Registration requested.

Pop-Up: Dress for Confidence
Take a style quiz, pick out free clothing items, and feel more confident dressing for interviews, ISU game days, or everyday life.
Repair Cafe at Parks Library
Volunteers will help repair broken items to give them a longer life cycle. Bikes and skateboards will be repaired outside the library entrance. Indoor repairs include: clothing, backpacks, computers, electronics, small appliances, jewelry, accessories. If our volunteers are unable to repair your item or parts are required, they can help you find a local repair shop. Bring replacement parts if you have them. There is no charge for repairs.
Centennial Celebration: Child Development Lab School
Join the Child Development Laboratory School in celebrating a century of innovation in early care and education. Learn about the school's history and enjoy activities and entertainment -- including the ISU Storm Band, Cy the mascot, the cheer squad, tours, an exhibit, children's games, and cupcakes and ice cream.
