Drop-in Craft: Altered Trinket Box
Drop in Monday-Friday 2-9pm and Saturday 10am-4pm from June 2-July 31 (closed July 3-5). Transform a lidded box with paint or decoupage to create a space to hold things like jewelry, coins, keepsakes, or a small rock collection. Select a fabric to line the interior for safekeeping your special items. We will be repurposing microscope slide boxes from campus labs, with sizes from 3" x 5" to 6" x 9".

We have patterns for a bunny, dinosaur, axolotl, cactus, avocado, or you can make up your own. These are around two feet tall and easy to make and personalize.

"Hive Mind" Inspirations: Chemistry at Iowa State
In the newly installed public work of art "Hive Mind", artist Beth Lipman drew inspiration from multiple ISU departments for examples of historical innovation to represent in glass. Join Brett Vanveller, associate professor in the department of Chemistry, to view some of the unique equipment found in the labs at Iowa State University, and how the discoveries made at ISU inspired the artist.

Grab a friend and drop by for a fun evening of easy painting. Each Friday has a different theme, and there will be 8-10paintings to choose from. If you don't finish, no worries! We will send you home with extra paint and brushes, or you are welcome to come back sometime the following week.

Join University Museums for a tour of Christian Petersen's post New Deal public art for Iowa State, starting at the iconic "Fountain of Four Seasons" and ending outside MacKay Hall.

Small groups of volunteers will walk through designated sections of the creek along the banks and pick up trash. No time commitment is required; all help is appreciated. Volunteers are requested to register in advance and check in at the Forker Building parking lot.

Roth, director of the Center for Food Security and Public Health, Clarence Hartley Covault Distinguished Professor in Veterinary Medicine and holder of the Presidential Chair in Veterinary Microbiology and Preventive Medicine, will retire June 30 after more than 48 years of service to the university.

Songwriter Showcase: David G. Smith and Carol Montag
David G. Smith and Carol Montag take the stage for the second of five performances in the Goldfinch Room Songwriter Showcase series at Reiman Gardens. A local food truck will be on site and beverages will be available for purchase. Outside food and nonalcoholic beverages are allowed. Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating on the lawn. Inclement weather could move the performance to the Garden Room.
Summer Carillon Concert Series
The monthly concert series features performances by guest carillonneurs from around the world. Bring a blanket or chair to enjoy the concert on the central campus lawn.
