"Caught in the Middle: America's Heartland in the Age of Globalism," Richard Longworth, author and journalist. Longworth is a two-time recipient of the Overseas Press Club Award for series on globalization and the UN and was twice a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. He is a senior fellow at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and distinguished visiting scholar at DePaul University.

Journalist Richard Longworth is the author of Caught in the Middle: America's Heartland in the Age of Globalism. For twenty years Longworth was a foreign correspondent for the Chicago Tribune and United Press International and was the Tribune's Chief European Correspondent. He is the author of Global Squeeze, one of the first books on globalization, as well as the MacArthur Foundation report "Global Chicago." Longworth is a two-time recipient of the Overseas Press Club Award for series on globalization and the UN and was twice a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. He is a senior fellow at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and distinguished visiting scholar at DePaul University.
