The New York architecture firm Agrest & Gandelsonas designed the Pappajohn Sculpture Park in Des Moines. The two principal architects will discuss the work of their firm with a focus on the sculpture park.

Diana Agrest and Mario Gandelsonas are co-founders and principals of Agrest & Gandelsonas Architects, New York. Agrest is also a professor of architecture at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and the Arts in New York. Gandelsonas is a professor at the Princeton University School of Architecture and the founding director of Princeton's Center for Architecture, Urbanism and Infrastructure.

The Curt F. Dale Memorial Lecture was established in 2004 to honor 1969 Iowa State University architecture alumnus Curt F. Dale, who died in an avalanche while mountain climbing in February 2003. He was a partner in the Denver firm of Anderson Mason Dale and had been a member of the ISU Architecture Advisory Council. Dale's family and firm set up this annual endowed lecture for the ISU architecture department.
