Abstract: The talk addresses the nontrivial issue of universality of transverse momentum dependent parton correlators (parton distributions and fragmentation functions) like the Sivers function and the Collins function. It is also outlined how interesting insights on this universality can be obtained by studying the properties of (collinear) partonic pole matrix elements.
