The DSN S 546: Products of Public Space studio will host this lecture by Steve Dryden, founder of Renewable Power Markets Access, De Soto, Iowa, who will speak about his work as a wind developer and his view of where the wind energy market is going. RPMAccess has built more than 15 percent of the renewable wind generation in Iowa and several projects in adjacent states.

Taught by Kevin Owens, lecturer in industrial design, Products of Public Space is an interdisciplinary, experimental learning studio that exposes upper-level students to a range of real-world issues of public space in the Greater Des Moines region and beyond. Students then use their expertise to propose creative interventions for Des Moines that focus on entertainment and tourism; economic development; recreation and quality of life; vibrant urban experience; technology development; reversing the "brain drain"; sustainable energy; sustainable watershed; creation of new business models; and lifestyle choices for all generations.
