"The Fashionable Side of STEM," Sara Marcketti, associate professor in the apparel, merchandising and design program and associate director of the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching.

Established in 2006, the Rossmann Manatt Faculty Development Award is designed to recognize a tenured faculty member who has demonstrated exceptional level of creativity and productivity in scholarship, teaching, and service.

Synopsis of Marcketti presentation:
From the groundbreaking introduction of new fiber machines that change the way apparel is created to the more mundane pattern grading, fashion --both historically and contemporarily -- has been influenced and contributed to advances in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
