Natural dyes are fascinating for fiber artists, nature lovers and chemistry enthusiasts alike. Fiber artist Sarah Cady is all three--and in this class, she will discuss the harvesting and processing of plants for use in fiber dyeing and the chemical reactions that make these lovely colors possible.

Participants will be able to choose from skeins of yarn or cotton fabric for use in future projects. We will work with processed powder dyes derived from plants in addition to foraged plants native to Iowa landscapes. Wear old clothes--aprons and gloves will be available.
Meets Wednesday and Thursday, October 22 & 23 from 6-8pm
Instructor: Dan Neubauer
