Strengthening Hispanic Student Success
The Hispanic population in the United States has increased by 34% since 2000, and is expected to double in size by 2050. These demographic changes are reflected on their campuses all across the country; Hispanic enrollment is already surpassing that of Caucasian students at many community colleges. While they welcome this surge of enrollment and diversity on campus, many community college leaders wonder how best to serve this growing student population--and where they should invest to elevate Hispanic student completion rates. This presentation, along with three breakout discussion groups, will focus on developing trends in the field and will profile best practices for advancing completion goals. The Education Advisory Board will draw on its extensive research into student success to create engaging, strategic presentations and discussion sessions.
