We are in the middle of a multi-year NSF funded project to develop electronic vocabulary, clicker and homework assessments at the topic level for a broad range of introductory statistics courses. In this talk, I will discuss the development and structure of the online homework assessment database, including the selection of topics, specification of learning outcomes, and principles used in the development of database questions. Then, I will describe the general process and results for generating feedback on student learning for instructors and course supervisors using specially developed reports incorporating the current state of data visualization research. Finally, I will describe some of the results obtained to date about student learning and provide some ideas for future directions and research.
