Frans Schryer is Professor Emeritus at the University of Guelph, Canada, where he taught in the Department of Anthropology and Sociology.

Frans Schryer is the author of They Never Come Back: A Story of Undocumented Workers from Mexico. He will discuss how the migrant experience has changed over the past two decades and its implications for immigration reform. The book traces the personal lives and careers of indigenous men and women on both sides of the U.S.-Mexican border, showing how NAFTA, migrant labor legislation, and more stringent border controls have all affected migrants' home communities, their relations with employers, their livelihoods, and their identity.
