Coordinated in conjunction with the temporary sculpture exhibit titled Chuck Ginnever: Rashomon on view in the Food Sciences courtyard, University Museums is showing the seminal Japanese film Rashomon, directed by Akira Kurosawa. Film is unrated with adult themes and content.

Widely considered one of the greatest films ever made, the story is a riveting psychological thriller that investigates the nature of truth and the meaning of justice. In the movie, four people give different accounts of a man's murder and the rape of his wife, which is presented with striking imagery and an ingenious use of flashbacks. This eloquent masterwork and international sensation revolutionized film language and introduced Japanese cinema to the Western World. Film Run Time: 88 minutes

The sculpture exhibition by the renowned artist Chuck Ginnever features fifteen identical sculptures which can be placed fifteen different ways. The installation plays on the Rashomon effect and tells one story, from multiple perspectives. The exhibition is on view Monday-Friday from 8 am -5 pm until July 1st, 2014.
