"Ready to Run Iowa" is nonpartisan, campaign training for women considering running for elective office in Iowa, preparing for appointive office, or seeking to be leaders in their communities. Registration is required.

This workshop provides an overview of campaign message development, tips for staying on message, and strategies for public speaking and debate participation. With feedback and guidance from a campaign expert, participants will practice developing their campaign messages. A panel of news media and elected officials will discuss how to prepare for interviews and provide practical tips for developing positive media encounters. An interactive session will provide participants an opportunity to practice delivering their stump speeches in front of a television camera and receive feedback from a media specialist.

Part of six interactive workshops offered by the Catt Center in its 2015 "Ready to Run" series. Each may be attended on its own or in conjunction with others in the series.

Register online.
