Charm and bottom quarks are formed predominantly by gluon fusion in the initial hard scatterings of heavy-ions at RHIC, making them good probes of the full medium evolution. The PHENIX experiment has an excellent ability to access this information by measuring leptons decaying from charm/bottom hadrons. The early measurements of heavy flavor hadrons in Au+Au collisions at sqrt(sNN)=200 GeV showed large suppression and azimuthal anisotropy which was striking results for the community. In order to further understand the heavy quark dynamics in the hot medium, it is essential to study cold nuclear matter effects which affects the initial distribution of heavy quarks as well as the system size dependence of the medium induced suppression. In this talk, measurements of heavy quark production from various collision systems (p+p, d+Au, Cu+Cu, and Au+Au) in PHENIX will be presented, and evolution of heavy quark dynamics through the different sizes of collision systems will be discussed.
