Velma McBride Murry is the Lois Autrey Betts Chair in Education and Human Development and professor of Human and Organizational Development in Peabody College at Vanderbilt University. Her research focuses on the significance of context in studies of African-American families and youth, in particular the impact of racism on family functioning.
