Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is an approach to curriculum and teaching that provides equal opportunities for learning to all students. Although UDL is not a new concept, it has received a lot of press recently. In part this is because larger numbers of people with disabilities are attending higher education institutions and there is a greater awareness of the need to make web resources, courses, services...

...and other related programs accessible to all students. Join us this fall for a three part series on universal design that will provide an overview of UDL in higher ed and at Iowa State, the impact of accessibility on research programs, and best practices for implement UDL.

Part 1
In the first session a panel of experts will describe the current status of universal design in higher education, as well as the legal issues associated with accessibility, and the student disability resources available at ISU.
