Learn to detect and diagnose ''high-consequence'' pests and pathogens like emerald ash borer.

Reiman Gardens' staff will introduce you to the American Public Gardens Association's Plant Protection Program (PPP, formerly Sentinel Plant Network), aimed to detect and diagnose ''high-consequence'' pests and pathogens, like emerald ash borer and the Asian long-horned beetle. Learn about IPM (integrated pest management) practices and understand the process involved in becoming a First Detector. A good introduction to more specific PPP programs offered throughout the year.

Preregistration with prepayment is required by Friday, February 12. Cost is $12 for members and $15 for the general public. Iowa State University students pay 15% off the member price.
