Joe Patrick's paintings and drawings, while very different in their execution, both examine a transient sense of impermanence. Join the artist in a gallery walk where he will discuss the impermanence and the parallels found in his paintings and drawings on exhibition in the Brunnier Art Museum.

Patrick's paintings of the ramshackle constructions found in the Oaxaca, Mexico marketplaces depict structures that exude a sense of the temporary, yet exist to cover and protect the goods and humans below. His drawings are portraits of friends and colleagues and observe a moment in time, which are also temporary, to be replaced by the next emotion and moment.
