Aspiring opera singers will participate in the Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions in Ames. Singers will perform two of five prepared arias representing different styles and languages. The event is open to the public.

Winners from Saturday's event will advance to the Upper Midwest Regional competition Feb. 19 at Bethel University in St. Paul. Winners of that competition will perform in New York March 12 on the Met stage.
