Have you dipped your toes into case-building in ThinkSpace and wondered what the several phase types you see are all about? What is an html phase vs. two-part html phase vs. an html and observation list phase? What are the pros and cons of using one vs the other? Which works best for what I want?

Phases are the building bricks of your cases in ThinkSpace and information about what the different phase-types do is an important first step in making decisions about the work-flow of your cases. In this learning community, we will discuss the different phase-types in ThinkSpace, see examples of the different ways in which each phase-type has been / can be used and compare their pros and cons for certain tasks you may have in mind.

This topic will also transition us very neatly into a summer workshop I am planning for faculty to help them build cases. I envisage the workshop to be a perfect balance between gaining technical know-how to work ThinkSpace, exploring of the pedagogy embedded in the tools and using this information for hands-on designing of a case that you have in mind. There will be a survey coming to you soon to help me gauge interest and schedule the workshops in a way that work best for those interested.

About the ThinkSpace Learning Community
TLC colleagues exchange new ideas and novel ways of infusing active learning into face-to-face, online, blended learning or flipped classrooms. TLC meetings support veteran ThinkSpace users, new comers, as well as those "just curious." Members will showcase exemplary ThinkSpace use by faculty across campus and in many disciplines- encouraging discussions on best practices and experiences, facilitating research collaborations and brainstorming solutions to instructional problems. We invite you to join this supportive and vibrant community to help you create exciting learning experiences in your classrooms.
