"Vanishing Vaquitas: Lessons from a Humble Porpoise" - Barbara Taylor is a conservation biologist at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administrationââ'¬â"¢s Southwest Fisheries Science Center and involved with recent efforts to protect the critically endangered vaquita porpoises.

Notice: Parking will be extremely limited due to the 7pm football game. Please plan accordingly.

Taylor is involved with recent efforts to protect the critically endangered vaquita porpoises found exclusively in Mexico’s Upper Gulf of California. Her discussion of the vaquita's rapid population decline will address broader themes of ocean and coastal conservation, international politics and what individuals can do to protect endangered species.
