Bariton Jesse Blumberg and pianist Martin Katz perform Schubert Die schöne Mullerin.

Since his last appearance for Ames Town & Gown, Jesse Blumberg's extensive operatic and recital performances in this country and Europe have included Leonard Bernstein's MASS in London as well as the world premiere of The Grapes of Wrath at Minnesota Opera. Recent recital appearances have included the iconic song cycles of Franz Schubert. Mr. Blumberg also brings chamber music to every corner of New York City as the founder and artistic director of the Five Burroughs Festival.

Dubbed "the gold standard among accompanists" (New York Times), Martin Katz has performed with such vocal luminaries as Marilyn Horne, Cecilia Bartoli, Kathleen Battle, Kiri Te Kanawa, Frederica von Stade, and Jose Carreras. He has also trained many of the younger pianists active today and coached innumerable singers in his capacity as chair of collaborative piano for over 30 years at the University of Michigan School of Music.
