Have you ever wondered why people decide to become a plant breeder in Monsanto? Within Monsanto we have a dedicated team of breeders working collaboratively to develop the best products for our farmer customers with the goal of improving lives through better harvests. As a woman in agriculture, I will share my career progression, as well as the future direction of the role of a plant breeder within Monsanto. I will take you on the journey a soybean breeder initiates when they work to develop a new variety from initial cross through to commercialization.
