Distinguished Professor Dan Nettleton, Statistics, ISU Margaret Ellen White Graduate Faculty Awardee, will share how he encourages, supports, and challenges his doctoral and master's students to be their best.

How can you help students transition from the student-professor relationship to a partnership where they are taking ownership of their own research? How do you foster great communication skills? How do you give advice to a student who is considering a career path very different from your own? Participants in this session will leave with a new paradigm for advising advanced students.
