Have you ever opened a data file and thought "what is this?" or "what was I thinking?" We have. And now we're now teaching a README workshop to share what we learned. This workshop will teach how a simple README file can help keep you and your research organized. Register through Learn (at) ISU, keyword: LIB. Let us know if you need accommodation.

Working with data that's not well documented can leave you asking "what is this?" or "what was I thinking?" This workshop will teach you how to take steps to prevent these situations by creating a readme: a text document that explains how to open and use a other files. Documenting the Who, What, When, Where, and HoW of your data (5 W's) isn't high tech and no prior experience is needed.
