Colloquium to Honor Alan Goldman given by Jonathan Lang from Argonne National Lab, Stefan Kycia from the University of Guelph and Carsten Detlefs from ESRF

Abstract
With the imminent retirement of Alan Goldman it behooves us to review a subset of his work and impact on the field with the help of his first three graduates: Jonathan Lang, Stefan Kycia and Carsten Detlefs. Each speaker will touch upon the past, the present and a little bit about the future, using their time with Alan as starting point for their discussions of contemporary scattering research and facilities. As such, this retrospective will provide not only insight into the wild and wooly life of Alan Ira Goldman but will also provide a perspective on the evolving forefront of scattering in world-leading facilities. Speakers have been encouraged to bring mildly embarrassing stories and photos. To paraphrase the poet Ezra Pound: "Winter is icumen in, Lhude sing Goldman".
