This workshop will bring together a cross-disciplinary group of instructors across the College of Design to discuss best-practices and critical challenges that we face in developing and delivering these courses. The workshop will include information about service-learning efforts across campus, will suggest ways to cultivate community partnerships, and will provide suggestions for developing and delivering content.

The challenges of creating and delivering these courses are unique; even more so in a College of Design in which practice-based disciplines struggle with constraints of time, cost, and transactional interactions. CELT will help facilitate these on-going Service-learning efforts in an attempt to promote a framework for collaborations that can occur across the College of Design and to identify particular issues that require administrative support. Experienced and new faculty are welcome, as are administrators and staff.

Workshop Facilitators: Rob Whitehead (ARCH), CELT's Faculty Fellow for High-Impact Practices, and an instructor of service-learning coursework & Megan Meyers (WLC), former Campus Compact fellow, CELT Service-learning Teaching/learning community co-chair, and current service-learning instructor.
