Students from colleges and universities across Iowa will meet for a day of networking and skills building as they tackle sustainability issues on their campuses and beyond.

Registration is open to anyone affiliated with higher education in the state of Iowa.

The One Sustainable Iowa conference is an annual event that gathers students, faculty, and staff from all the higher learning institutions in the state of Iowa for a day of networking and learning about current sustainability efforts taking place in Iowa. The conference will be action packed and full of inspiring, engaging and thought-provoking presentations and activities, including a keynote speech by Ben Jealous. Mr. Jealous is an important civil rights figure and the current executive director of the Sierra Club. There will be a brief book signing and meet and greet opportunity following his address.

The cost of registration includes a free meal and free parking. Early bird registration operates from March 1st to March 29th. The cost of early bird registration is $10 for students and $25 for faculty and staff. Regular registration runs from March 30th to April 18th. Regular registration costs are $15 for students and $40 for faculty and staff.

An opportunity to apply for registration scholarship is also being offered through demonstration of financial need ( or through the submission (and acceptance) of an application to exhibit a sustainability-related research poster or sustainability-themed artwork (
