Dr. Donghyun Kim, University of Texas at Arlington

In this presentation, I describe the RPC system( one of the Muon detector systems in CMS) and The Triple-layer GEM detector( one of the MPGD detectors ) in relation to my career. I would like to talk about the activities of the RPC upgrade project that I participated in for three years(2013-2015). It describes activities at QC3 sites and commissioning activities at CMS point5 related to the addition of the RPC Endcap-layer during the LS1. Participating in the CMS RPC upgrade project is an important achievement during my Ph.D. program. After my doctorate, I'm conducting research on GEM detectors. QC of GEM Foil, production, and experimentation of 10by10 size Triple-layer GEM detector. I describe the verification of the GEM detector's performance experiment using Fe55 source, Verification Experiment for Detection Capability of Beta-rays Using Cs137, and Cu64 Sources, How to Track Channels with a One-Dimensional Anode Board in SRS DAQ.
