This topic-based teaching and learning community meets throughout the academic year. We work as teams to optimize application exercises, readiness assurance tests, peer evaluation, and other aspects of course design, and also invite speakers to facilitate discussions of TBL theory, research and classroom application.

***Implementing TBL Before, During, and After The Pandemic: A Case Study
Creating diverse teams to work on different activities will flip students' ability differences from liability to an advantage and will help students to learn from each other as well as from the course instructor. However, with the current delivery modes of classes, team activities are not easy to implement. In this talk, Mohamed Selim (Assistant Teaching Professor, E CPE), will present a case study for applying TBL to a first-year programming course during Fall 2019, Spring 2020, and Fall 2020. Also, Selim will present how he was able to tackle the barriers and other issues that appeared during the current pandemic. Finally, he will present how the Discord platform can be used to eliminate these barriers.
