Continually practiced since the Edo period (1603-1867) origami is the art of paper folding in Japanese culture with the goal of transforming a flat square sheet of paper into a finished sculpture through folding and sculpting techniques. Join Lee Anne Willson, Professor Emerita of Astronomy Program in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Iowa State University and founding president of Creative Artists' Studios of Ames (CASA), for a family friendly program on modern day origami practices. Learn how a small number of basic folds can be combined in a way to make your very own intricate designs.
Videos will be released on our YouTube Channel in the afternoon of each day listed.
