In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore how to apply the Quality Matters rubric to evaluate the use of free digital materials, like OER, in the classroom.

Under the mediation of the workshop facilitators, participants will use the QM Rubric to evaluate a demo course and discuss ways to improve it. Since OER are free to access and reuse, all the materials in the demo course will be navigable for participants, allowing a more in-depth review of the course's design.

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

- Leverage the Quality Matters rubric to assess the application of OER in a sample course.
- Recognize the use cases for OER in an online course.
- Evaluate common course material linking practices.
- Link aspects of the QM rubric to changes you can make in your own course.
