"One sentence can result in an epiphany for someone." Morrill Professor Lee Burras, Agronomy, has many years of experience teaching high enrollment classes in big auditoriums. How can we facilitate engagement and ensure the learning environment is meaningful, welcoming and enjoyable?

Lee will share how he considers individual student experiences/preparedness and approaches learners as future colleagues. Discuss together how we can encourage honest experimentation, grade flexibly enough to celebrate skill development and accommodate personal style, effectively use large lecture class time, and how to ask stimulating questions that encourage students to think about the future.
